Health Without Barriers, the European Federation for prison health and human rights in prison, is organising its Forth European Conference on Health Care in Prison in Lisbon (Portugal) on the 21-22 October 2024 as side event of the third Lisbon Addiction Conference.

The conference will provide a space for discussion and exchange among health professionals working in prison in European and non-European countries coming from different working and disciplinary field, from practice to research and monitoring, from law enforcement and prison administration to peer involvement, including people with personal prison experience.

The following topics will be discussed: human rights, determinants of health, drug addiction, harm reduction, cooperation with outside services and throughcare, preparation for release, peer involvement, mental health, safety management, migrants, women and new approches to health care in prison.

Medical service (doctors, psychologists and nursing staff) of prisons, Employees in prison, Employees of external services (NGO's,...), Employees in administration, policy makers, lawyers and other interested parties.
